What stories can you find in a piece of paper? What patterns can you make with repeating simple forms? What can you tap into creatively when you switch up your mediums?
I spent the last two weeks cooking for all the residents and treehouse building crew at @rocklandresidency (sometimes 13 people at the table, 19 at one point!). “Anna, are you a chef? Do you do this a lot?” Hmm… well no, first time actually. But we all know I love a creative challenge. Not to say that creative challenges don’t put you outside of your comfort zone—I was pretty nervous going into the whole affair, and in the end the work universe conspired with some deadlines that meant I was juggling a few two many things at once. But let’s just say that being with artists and making good food is a special kind of sweet spot.
2022 calendars heading to the printer today! ⭐️ Just like every year, I am making a postcard calendar—after each month is over you can cut the artwork off and send to a friend. But unlike other years I am making TWO different calendars! One is a new selection of Women’s Wisdom Project and the other features @al_humphreys and my #coffeeadventures outside series.
Up here in the northern hemisphere we have passed the equinox and slipped into autumn. The days are becoming cooler, the leaves are turning golden and beginning to fall. Our nights are now longer than our days. The good news of all this is that it becomes easier every day to wake up a little before dawn, brew some coffee, and head outside to watch the sun rise.
I know that holiday season is the absolute last thing on your mind and you’re just thinking “Anna please let me enjoy pumpkin spice season in peace” but I am printing another batch of my 24 Days of Making, Doing, and Being Advent calendars that sold out last year and I have them up for preorder now. They’re currently at the printer so will ship late October, which means you will have them in ample time for December 1st.
